Ukrainian Player’s Curious Red Card in Portuguese Game
In a recent clash between Arouca and Boavista in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, defender Bogdan Milovanov found himself at the heart of an unusual red card scenario. Despite Arouca securing a commanding 4-0 victory, the match was punctuated by tension, resulting in red cards for a player from each team and six yellow cards for Boavista.
Milovanov, a player hailing from Ukraine, was handed his second yellow card in the 49th minute, with the referee attributing it to his perceived delay in restarting the game. However, televised footage contradicted this assertion, capturing Milovanov signaling to the bench, indicating his physical inability to continue due to injury and requesting substitution.
Arouca vehemently contested the decision, articulating that Milovanov’s plea for substitution was overlooked by the referee. To prevent compromising the team’s defensive structure, Milovanov reluctantly rose to join the play. Yet, upon the ball going out of play, he promptly sat down, clearly showcasing his incapacity to continue and the urgency for a substitution.
Історія, після яких українські арбітри виглядають суддями рівня фіналу ЛЧ.
У Португалії арбітр видалив українця Богдана Мілованова, коли той через травму не міг продовжувати гру і просив заміну.
Такого ми ще не бачили🤪

Despite Arouca’s robust defense of the incident, the disciplinary committee of the Portuguese FA upheld the one-match ban, placing their trust in the referee’s judgment. Consequently, Milovanov will be absent from Arouca’s crucial upcoming fixture against Rio Ave, a significant match in their bid to evade relegation.
