Tyler Adams’ January Return Doubtful: Bournemouth Boss on Injury Update

Tyler Adams is currently in the process of recovering from hamstring surgery at Bournemouth, but the return of the USMNT star appears to be on an extended timeline.

Since his summer transfer from Leeds to Bournemouth, the United States international midfielder has been limited to just one substitute appearance. Unfortunately, an untimely injury necessitated surgery, and since then, Adams has been navigating a lengthy path to recovery.

Initial expectations hinted at a potential return to action in January, offering optimism for the New Year. However, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola suggests that this may not be the case. Both Adams and fellow injured player Alex Scott seem to be a considerable distance away from rejoining the squad.

Iraola shared with the Daily Echo his assessment when asked about the possibility of Adams and Scott returning early in 2024: “They are still a long way from playing. Alex might recover sooner than Tyler, considering Tyler’s surgery. They are making progress, but their return to the team is not imminent.”

Having invested £23 million ($29m) in Adams, Bournemouth has yet to see significant returns on their expenditure. The 24-year-old midfielder, who experienced relegation with Leeds last season, has not featured in a top-flight English football match since March 11.
