Ghanaian Politician Publicly Apologizes to Harry Maguire for Parliamentary Mockery
A politician in Ghana named Isaac Adongo said sorry to Harry Maguire for using his name to talk badly about another politician last year. Adongo was discussing the country’s money plans when he compared Ghana’s vice president, Mahamudu Bawumia, to Harry Maguire, saying they both made political mistakes.
Last year, Harry Maguire, who plays for Manchester United, didn’t have a good season. But this year, he’s doing much better, playing well for both his team and the national squad.
Because of Maguire’s improvement, Adongo mentioned him again. This time, Adongo apologized to the football star while also saying something critical about the political leader he was talking about before.
Adongo said sorry in a meeting and talked about how Maguire’s football performance had changed for the better. He praised Maguire’s role in Manchester United and called him an important player. Then, he talked about something else related to politics, hinting that the actions of the “economic Maguire” (referring to someone else in politics) caused issues for older people.
Maguire responded on social media by accepting the apology kindly. He said he’d see Adongo at the Manchester United stadium, using a handshake and a smiley face.
