Kylian Mbappe Allegedly Makes Firm Decision Between Arsenal and Liverpool
Speculation regarding Kylian Mbappe‘s potential move from Paris Saint-Germain has intensified, especially after his refusal to extend his contract over the summer, leading to a temporary separation from the first-team squad. Nonetheless, under new manager Luis Enrique, he’s been reinstated into the starting lineup and even entrusted with the captain’s armband.
While Real Madrid initially led the race to sign the 24-year-old, they recently withdrew interest due to exorbitant wage demands, clearing the way for Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool to enter the fray.
According to The Independent, Mbappe’s preference for a move to the Premier League leans toward Arsenal. The report suggests that the Emirates Stadium appeals to him, citing an intrigue in Mikel Arteta’s project, which played a significant role in acquiring Declan Rice from West Ham during the summer transfer window.
Interestingly, Arsene Wenger had expressed interest in signing Mbappe in 2017 during the player’s Monaco days, reportedly making an £87 million bid when the forward was just 19. However, Mbappe opted for Paris Saint-Germain, enticed by the prospect of playing alongside Neymar.
Reflecting on that earlier interaction with Wenger, Mbappe shared in 2018, “We were in touch in 2017. I’d chosen a different path, and he [Wenger] didn’t hold it against me. He was a gentleman and wished me good luck.”
