Nottingham Forest enthusiasts demonstrated a dignified tribute to Brennan Johnson as he suffered an injury during his comeback at the City Ground after his £47.5 million transfer to Tottenham in the summer.
Regrettably, the Wales international’s return was abruptly curtailed by injury after just 32 minutes on the pitch. Despite this setback, the Forest fans exhibited their appreciation for their former standout player by applauding and serenading him with a rendition of ‘Brennan Johnson, he’s one of our own.’
Johnson, who ascended through Forest’s academy and played a pivotal role in their Championship promotion, encountered an emotionally charged return to his former club. His father, David, a former Forest player, was present in the stands.
