Ronaldo’s Witty Response to Messi Chants
Al Hilal extended their lead at the summit of the Saudi Pro League standings by seven points following a convincing 3-0 victory over title contenders Al Nassr.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Aleksandar Mitrovic were the heroes for Al Hilal, securing the crucial win with their goals. The match saw Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, confronted with chants about his perennial rival, Lionel Messi, from the home supporters at the end of the game. In response, Ronaldo gracefully blew kisses toward the crowd while smiling, despite enduring a challenging day on the field for Al Nassr.

Despite showing promise with a disallowed goal due to a marginal offside call and expressing grievances about a potential foul in the build-up to Mitrovic’s first goal, Ronaldo’s efforts couldn’t alter the course of the match. Additionally, an altercation with Al Hilal defender Ali Al-Bulayhi in the first half saw Ronaldo calmly gesturing that he couldn’t hear the taunts directed at him.
Ronaldo, who had been a standout performer for Al Nassr in the league, leading the scoring charts with 15 goals in 14 previous games, faced an arduous encounter.
Al Nassr’s coach, Luis Castro, spoke highly of Ronaldo, hailing him as a paragon of dedication, ambition, and discipline. Castro emphasized Ronaldo’s work ethic, highlighting him as a role model for aspiring individuals, stating that while many aspire to be like Ronaldo, few are willing to put in the same level of hard work and commitment to achieve their goals.
