The Rock’s Manchester United-Themed Halloween Costume Leaves David Beckham in Hysterics

In the spirit of Halloween, the celebrated Hollywood icon, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, decided to join in on the fun with a playful twist on Manchester United’s kit. Sporting David Beckham’s iconic no. 7 jersey from this season, The Rock, known for his legendary WWE career, combined it with one of Beckham’s classic haircuts from his Real Madrid era and even donned a headband.

Accompanying this amusing costume, The Rock posted a caption on his social media: “265lb BLA-MOAN BECKHAM. #7 on the field. #1 in your heart. Happy Halloween, my friends. BlaMoan = Black + Samoan #BendItLikeABlaMoan #TaurusEnergy #May2ndBabies.” It’s worth noting that both The Rock and Beckham share a birthday on May 2, and they’ve each transcended their original sports to become global household names.

In response to this playful homage, Beckham couldn’t help but join in on the banter, commenting with a laughing/crying emoji and a witty remark: “I mean I thought I was looking in the mirror. Looking good, man, you might need a bigger jersey.”

Notably, The Rock’s jest isn’t the only mention of Manchester United’s kit this season. Reports have surfaced that the 2023/24 edition has posed a challenge for the players. According to The Daily Mail, players have refrained from wearing official socks since the second game of the season due to their tightness, resorting to cutting holes in them for greater comfort. Even goalkeeper Andre Onana has opted for a more affordable fan jersey instead of the pricier ‘authentic’ version due to discomfort while guarding the goal. These issues raise questions about the kit’s design and its suitability for professional athletes.
